For those working with children and families with developmental trauma, the impacts on emotional regulation, relationship development, and the ability to feel safe are profound. Advances in the fields of early childhood development and attachment theory have shown us that these early life experiences provide the foundation for infants to interact with and form attachment to parents, and eventually to build relationships with others.
During this one-day workshop participants will:

Julie Walsh BA, MSW
Julie holds a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Manitoba, focusing both on disability related issues within families and attachment theory and has spent the past 13 years working as an attachment focused therapist with children, youth, and families. She is trained in a variety of attachment based interventions and is reliable coder and trainer of the Preschool Aged Assessment of Attachment and the School Aged Assessment of Attachment. Her extensive training in attachment has led her to develop programs for a variety of agencies in Manitoba and present throughout Canada. Beyond her clinical work, she is passionate about sharing information and knowledge about attachment theory, developmental trauma, and working with families with complex needs.
